Nutrition Coaching

What is nutrition coaching?

Nutrition coaching is a full-service approach that helps you understand how your body is currently functioning as well as how you can harness the power of food to improve your health and wellness.

With processed foods lining grocery store shelves, fast food available on nearly every corner, and huge restaurant meals prepared with unknown ingredients, it’s no wonder so many Americans struggle with nutritional issues.

Nutrition coaching empowers you to make meaningful lifestyle changes that can help you live your best life – today and for many years to come. Sustainability is a key focus, and finding ways to incorporate what you learn will help you change your diet for the better — and for good.

Who can benefit from nutrition coaching?

Everyone can benefit from personalized nutrition coaching. Whether you’re struggling with chronic disease or preparing to train for your next half-marathon, aspects of your nutrition can bring you closer to your personal goals.

If you have any of these conditions, nutrition coaching can help:

  • Allergies
  • Diabetes or pre-diabetes
  • High cholesterol
  • Hypertension
  • Heart disease
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Brain fog
  • Celiac disease
  • Obesity

Nutrition coaching can also help prepare your body for the challenges ahead, whether that’s a round of chemotherapy, a pregnancy, or a new fitness routine.

What happens during nutrition coaching sessions?

During your initial visit, you will go through a full bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), also called a body mass analysis. This process uses measurements of your waist and hips to get an initial assessment of your body mass index (BMI).

BIA goes further by using small electrodes to send a safe, low-level electrical current through your body. This current changes when it encounters different tissue types, including body fat.

BIA testing provides an in-depth understanding of the composition of your body and allows your practitioner to determine how much fat is stored at the time of testing. BIA testing can be repeated as you move through nutrition coaching, allowing you to track your progress and quantify your results.

You also share the details of your eating habits, and receive customized exercise and diet prescriptions to help you reach your goals. Professional nutrition coaching ensures you’re closely monitored throughout your program, and you’ll always be able to reach your team with questions or concerns.
